Should ATMs Do Windows?

I noticed this in an article about the possibility that ATMs may be switching to Windows XP in the near future and the security concerns of such a move:

One thing that could put a damper on Windows-based ATMs’ service is the issue of security. ATM maker Diebold recently revealed that some of its ATMs, operated by two of its financial services customers, suffered a W32/Nachi worm attack in August.

Well, at least Diebold doesn’t make anything important, like, say, electronic voting machines.

Wait.

Oh, damn.
