NO KILL RIFLES

Jonah,
I went to the range with my sister’s boyfriend last weekend, and he brought his newly-acquired Ruger Mini-14. The clerk looked at it and said, “That must be the least-lethal rifle ever.” When I asked why he said so, he responded, “They used those things all the time on the A-Team, and nobody ever died!”

Of course, the whole problem with the Mini-14 is the 5.56×45 ammo. We all know this. The Mini-33, on the other hand, uses the good old 7.62mmx39. (Maybe Ruger should split the difference and build a Mini-23.5 that fires the 6.8 SPC. Or the 6.5 Grendel. (As SDB used to say: Don’t Write Letters.))

Hmmm. All this time I thought the reason the A-Team never killed anyone was because they were trying to limit body count for network television standards. I never would have guessed that they were simply shooting pin-prick holes in their opponents that failed to drop them.

Makes sense, though.
