130,000 pounds of illegal fireworks confiscated in Van Buren County
Two semi trailers nabbed in Bangor Township, Michigan.
State Police tell 24 Hour News 8 they received an astounding tip. It sounded so far-fetched they had to check it out. The caller claimed fireworks were being delivered to a home using semi-tractor trailer trucks. When they arrived at the residence they found two 40-foot cargo containers containing 65-tons or 130,000 pounds worth of firecrackers, rockets and roman candles, just to name a few.
The government finally tracked down a couple of those trucks that made runs into Syria from Iraq just before the invasion in 2003.
Yes, I know that M-80s and roman candles aren’t WMD, but I bet we could knock France out of a war in six weeks with those trailers.
