How are the Italian 767 tankers doing?

16 Nov 2005

I noticed this in an article about the Dubai Air Show in the United Arab Emirates:

The Boeing exhibit will highlight the 767 Tanker Transport, the world’s most capable and advanced tanker aircraft, already delivered to the Italian Air Force.

Does anyone have any real info about the performance so far of the Italian tankers? I know they’ve only recently received the first one in February, but is there any word so far?

Come on. I know that a few regular readers are with Boeing. Cough it up.

Anyway, the Italians are buying a total of four 767 tankers, the Japanese are buying four more, and Boeing hopes to sell a couple to the UAE, which, I’m sure is a big reason that the bird is going to be featured at this air show.
