Margaret Friedenauer arrives in Mosul
14 Dec 2005
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reporter embedding with the Stryker brigade has made it:
Driving through the streets of Mosul, the commander kept post out one of the vehicle’s hatches while I had a view of the surrounding area on a monitor screen inside. [Col. Micheal] Shields is an excellent tour guide. He pointed out mosques and other historic buildings and commented on their architecture while at the same time keeping an eye out for potential danger. He also practiced his backhand throw as he tossed candy and stuffed animals to groups of children playing soccer on the streets.

Funny how any reporter who spend significant time embedded with our troops ends up writing overwhelmingly positive stories about them.
