Memorial Day 2007

28 May 2007

Made a pit stop last night on the way back from Indy, so haven’t had a chance to put together much of a Memorial Day post this time around.

Here’s a photo from the Grand Rapids Veteran’s Home Cemetery after Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Girl Scouts planted flags last Wednesday:

Do not forget those who have made the greatest sacrifice so that we may be free. I think getting the Scouts to participate in the planting of the flags is a great way to help raise awareness in our young people. (Photo by the lovely Mrs. Murdoc)

Here are a couple of links to check out if you’ve got the time:

Interestingly, and by complete coincidence (or subconcious guidance?), my wife and I ended up downloading and watching FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS via Xbox Live last night. Very good film, very interested to see LETTERS FROM IWO JIMA when it becomes available.
