Definitely Australian, but I can’t place the unit. I might have a reference at home.

I don’t even know if that’s a current unit insignia or a combat patch (right shoulder) or what. I looked around a bit but couldn’t find it. I have no real idea about Australian uniform regs. One other thing I meant to mention was that the uniform appears to be the gray [nope, probably yellow] version Disruptive Pattern Desert Uniform. That’s what stood out to me right away when scrolling through the pictures. Well, that and the big freakin mushroom cloud. Actually probably yellow version, not gray, based on the comparison of the hats about half-way down this page.

It does look like the type of camo our guys wear, but I’m afraid I don’t know much about insignia. I suspect that’s just a general service badge (army?).

Ok that is a Maroon patch that signafies ther battalion as the new rotation going into Iraq replacing the ones already there.

Leave it to the Air Force to walk around outside without headgear. On a live range, too. I’m actually a bit surprised his other hand isn’t in his pocket. Some things never change. And how about someone more imaginative than me make a Foster’s, ‘Australian for beer’ joke?
