    Tell us more about ‘electronic countermeasure flares’. I always assumed they were two completely different things, no?

    Hah! I hadn’t even caught that bit. It’s a ‘electronic countermeasures flare’ because, you know, heat-seeking missiles use electronics. Or it’s a caption mistake.

    Probably a typo. Usually when they are popping flares they are also firing chaff…

    Actually you’re all wrong. Those are Israeli-made missiles that kill muslim orphans. I mean, that’s what the Reuters caption would be.
