Even without Paul Karyia, the Avs have really taken it to the Stars in the first two games of the first-round playoff series. After playing so badly in the last month and a half of the regular season, Colorado suddenly looks like the team they were trying to be when they overhauled their roster throughout the year. Alex Tanquay, Andrei Nikolishin, and Marek Svatos have all come back from injuries and all three have contributed heavily in the two wins.
Now the series shifts to Dallas for two games. Dallas has been a poor road team all year so the return home should boost them, but Colorado was 21-8-7-5 on the road this season. If Colorado wins one of the two games in Dallas, Game 5 will be back in Colorado. Dallas’ back is against the wall, and they know it. I expect them to come out hard in Game 3.
