Who Says Mexico Might Be Unsafe?

Anyone who’s worried about possible drug gang-related violence in Mexico just needs to take 25 Secret Service agents with when they go on spring break vacations. Like Malia Obama.

And don’t worry. The White House will try to cover it up.

We are paying for this. Tell everyone.

  1. Yeah, the fact that they would send their kid to Mexico with Secret Service agents as chaperones is bad enough.

But once it leaked, and they attempted to scrub the info from the internet, well, that takes audacity to a whole new level!

And I can’t believe how many so called news outlets caved to the demands to scrub their posts. Pathetic.

  2. Just so I’m clear:

Children of the elite travel with armed bodyguards for their own protection= just obvious common sense.

Private citizen carries a weapon to provide protection for his own family = right-wing gun nut.

That’s about the size of things, yes?

    1. Yes, but they are trained professionals, like Rosie O’Donnell’s body guard. So obviously you need to go out and hire a trained professional, you amateur.

Also, it would help stimulate the economy. Win win.

      1. Nad
Ha yeah believe me I get the “trained professional” rap all the time. I like how cops and all agents of the state believe only the anointed few can be trusted with firearms.

Despite my military time, working for an armored car company, and having had an FID since i’m 16 and a pistol permit since I’m 22, I’m just a mouth-breathing slob.

‘Cept I never shot anyone (accidentally or otherwise), sold a gun to a narco terrorist, left one in a bathroom, had one stolen out of my vehicle, or had to have a weapon seized because of domestic battery.

Completely UNlike any number of highly trained ninja “professionals”.

  3. Chances are over 50% there’ll be another 4-years of this crap.

The Republicans are too splintered to field a worthy candidate and the Democrats with their allies the Liberal, anarchists are drafting in the Welfare fraudsters, “America Owes Me Mob” and the Wall Street Occupiers……not to mention the long dead to vote for “The Messiah”. No problem with the African-American vote either. 95% of them will vote for Obummer based on his color no matter what he does.

    We’re doomed.

  4. I took an Argumentation & Debate class last year, and the subject of a speech I did was on illegal immigration. I did a lot of research on the subject, and learned that within the space of only 4 years, the death toll in the Mexican Drug War had alredy exceeded 34000. That’s not a typo — thirty-four-thousand.

I have a source to back that claim, too.
    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/laplaza/2011/06/mexico-war-dead-update-figures-40000.html

That exceeds the death toll of US military personnel in the entire War on Terror more than three times over, by the most pessimistic figures. And let me reiterate that this was within the space of only FOUR YEARS.

    So, yeah; Mexico = dangerous.

      1. Not too many, I suspect.

Also, assuming they all *did*, the Secret Service would have an interesting day on Capitol Hill, as they explain to Congress why 850000 agents on their payroll. ;-)

  5. Guys,

If the President’s family is traveling abroad, it’s probably best if we don’t telegraph that to the entire world, especially if it’s in a place like Mexico. Getting your hands on the President’s daughter is a hell of a bargaining chip.

Arguing about paying for 25 secret service agents is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. There are slightly larger issues to worry about.

    1. > If the President’s family is traveling abroad, it’s probably best if we don’t telegraph that to the entire world

Yah. Because they’re always so secretive about when they travel.

      > Arguing about paying for 25 secret service agents is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. There are slightly larger issues to worry about.

Okay everyone…From now on we have to clear everything with Stefan before deciding what’s important. Apparently he’s the best judge of that sort of thing.

      1. What you worry about with your time is your business, but doesn’t this seem like kind of a distraction to you?

        1. I’m fully capable of worrying about this spending, the attempted blackout, and the media complicity AND worrying about other things at the same times.

Choosing to send her to a known dangerous place requiring lots of expensive security because it’s a “cool destination” is a bad call. Running around under the radar trying to get news stories about it pulled is a worse call. The media playing along is a horrible call.

It’s almost like there’s a pattern of stupid decisions followed by hush-hush aided and abetted by the media going on.

    2. lots of truth to what you say about priorities. Doesn’t mean the whole saga is not asinine though. If Michele wanted to stay on the beach in Somalia, does she get her own Marine Amphibious Ready Group? After all its already paid for and out floating around, why quibble about a little hacienda on the beach by Mogadishu?
