Murdoc was in NYC for the first time last month and took a tour of the WTC Memorial. While there, he snapped this picture:

I’ve written about Rescorla a number of times over the years, always pointing to this incredible post at Mudville Gazette.

The tenth anniversary has come and gone. The sharp edges of the pain are fading. Life goes on.

But we will never forget.

For a summary of the events, see “Planes, as in plural.” written in 2004.

  1. Eleven years and it seems rather empty. If you would have told me then that we’d go over a decade without rebuilding the towers, spend eleven years and counting on nation building in Afghanistan, waste eight years in Iraq, curtail our domestic civil liberties, and continue to accept unfettered immigration from muslim nations, I’d have told you that you were crazy. But that is pretty much what has happened.

I would love to be able to bring back from the grave some of the great ones from the past, such as the men of Mt. Rushmore, to see how they would react to our reaction.

If anything I am no longer upset, nor do I really care. I have resigned myself to the fact that this ain’t your daddy’s America anymore.
