How do you accidently remember wrongly that you were in an aircraft that was shot down?

NBC’s Brian Williams Admits He ‘Misremembered’ Being in Helicopter Shot Down in Iraq

Williams has been telling a story about how he was in a helicopter forced down after taking an RPG hit in Iraq in 2003. It turns out that it’s all completely true except for the part where he was in a helicopter forced down after taking an RPG hit in Iraq in 2003.

After getting called out on it, Williams fessed up, sorta:

“I would not have chosen to make this mistake,” Williams said. “I don’t know what screwed up in my mind that caused me to conflate one aircraft with another.”

Murdoc thinks he know what caused this mistake, Brian. (May I call you Brian?) I think that the cause of the conflation was probably was most people call “lying.” You were lying Brian. Lying.

Liar, liar, pants on fire.

Brian Williams of NBC News is a liar.

  1. What affected Brian Williams’ mind is the same thing that affected Hillary’s mind when she remembers flying into Afghanistan and land following a corkscrew descent to the airport all the while receiving fire from the Taliban.
But I think that Murdoc has the right of it in both cases, liar, liar, pants on fire. A lie in both cases to give greater credibility to the liar.
