On vacation

I’ll be traveling for the next two weeks. To be honest, I need it.

I’ll try to check in when I get a chance, but we’re spending most of our time in South Dakota and it appears that the connection opportunities are going to be slim. And we’re going to be camping quite a bit.

As much as I’m looking forward to being disconnected, I’m probably going to lose my mind.

Since you’re here and I’m probably not, why don’t you check out some of my favorite sites instead of crying about the lack of Murdoc:

Strategy Page
Intel Dump
Defense Tech
Winds of Change
Hell in a Handbasket
One Hand Clapping

Have a good one.

  1. Murdoc, Have a great time. Be sure and check out some of the caves in western SD: Wind Cave and Jewel Cave are nice. Lots of great roads too.

  2. I was born and raised in the Black Hills–I’ll recommend Jewel as the best cave. Take a jaunt along Needles Hwy if you’re going down Mt. Rushmore way. Crazy Horse Mt. is quite interesting but not nearly done–they have a ‘volksmarsch’ there on the first weekend of June and let people march right up to the face, which obviously doesn’t do you much good now, unfortunately. If you’re up north in the Deadwood area they have low-stakes gambling–slots, poker, and blackjack–starting at $2/hand with a max. bet of $100, IIRC. Kevin Costner and his bro. own the Midnight Star casino there and have been working on building the ‘Dunbar’ resort. Lots of other places I could recommend but I won’t prattle on here. ‘Course, if you’re out pheasant hunting you likely won’t be near the Hills.
