Plans afoot for Stryker brigade in Germany
Check out this quick Army Times story about the plans to field a seventh Stryker Brigade in Europe to replace some of the heavy forces that will be recalled to the US in the coming years.
MO first noted this proposal in June. I’m still trying to decide if I think it’s a good idea or not.

Hey, Murdoc, off-topic but check out the new prototype version of the XM-8, some changes are clearly evident: flip-up sight above gas port, new magazine, new safety, redesigned forward handgrip, and M16A2 flash hider (well that’s all I could make out). http://www.hkdefense.us/pages/military-le/rifles-carbines/xm8.html
I like the less toyish look, but there doesnot seem to bemuch new here. the PDFs at the bottom don’t work.
