I haven’t really read much about the Boston Red Sox’ improbable comeback against the Yankees. Truth be told, I don’t really care much for any of the remaining teams despite the recent return of my interest in the game.
I don’t think this comeback signals an end to the Curse in Beantown. I suspect that this is merely a prelude to yet another tragedy visited upon the BoSox faithful.
Remember Carlton Fisk’s homer? Next, a 3-0 lead in Game 7 ended in a loss.
Remember the victory in the memorable 1986 ALCS? A 2-0 World Series lead evaporated and a Game 6 Series win vanished just under Bill Buckner’s glove. Then a 3-0 lead in Game 7 ended in a loss.
If the World Series (whoever Boston faces) goes 7 games and Boston opens up a 3-0 lead in the game then loses, I won’t be the least bit shocked.
The Curse thrives on drama.
