If the recent reports of the improved performance of the Iraqi army and security forces are accurate, and if these “ordinary Iraqi” stories are true, it is o-v-e-r.
But we won’t know for sure until the people who are little kids right now are running Iraq. I welcome the apparent good news and I find satisfaction in the fact that many neighboring nations are clamoring for something akin to freedom. But I’m not going to get ahead of myself.
There is still a long, long way to go. We are on the right path, which is more than many opponents of Bush will even admit, but don’t kid yourself–we have barely begun the process.
