ACLU Double Feature

You’ve gotta love the ACLU. Don’t you?

First: ACLU sues Federal Air Marshal Service
Now, I’m not so sure about this one. I happen to think that the Federal Air Marshal service has got some problems. But how much “freedom of speech” do Federal Air Marshals really have? His attorney says he should be allowed to speak freely, and I’ve got to admit that I’m inclined to agree with him.

If I thought the problems this particular outspoken FAM was talking about were being addressed, I might feel differently. But they really don’t seem to be, so I’ve got to side with the ACLU on this one. As much as it pains me.

Fortunately for this ACLU skeptic, the ACLU observers along the US-Mexico border (you know, the ones smoking pot while waiting for one of the Minutemen to do something wrong) finally alerted the Border Patrol about a law-breaker crossing the border.

It was Sean Hannity. And he hadn’t broken any laws.

But nice try, though.

Apparently the Arizona Democratic Caucus had a press release about this incident where Hannity stepped through a hole in the border fence during the HANNITY & COLMES show. But the fence is three feet back from the actual border, so even technically Hannity didn’t do anything wrong.

The Arizona Democratic Caucus seems to exist, but I can’t find a web page or the press release itself. If anyone has more info, please pass it along. (via FR)

  1. Hey Hey! The Arizona Democratic Caucus seems to agree with you, Murdoc: ‘the White House has failed to provide the number of border patrol agents set out in last years intelligence reform bill.’

  2. I’ll bet the Arizona Democratic Caucus and I agree on a number of things, Jason. Like the time of day or the color of the sky. In all fairness, I don’t know a thing about them. But I don’t automatically disagree with someone just because they’re on the other side of the ailse.
