Harry Potter meets The Lord of the Rings

I received an email with the above as the subject and a one-word message:

He’s right. “Wow”, indeed.

It’s the trailer for THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE. I’m looking very forward to this film.

We’ve read the CHRONICLES OF NARNIA to our kids (THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE twice) and they love ’em. We’ll probably read LW&W again before the movie comes out this December. Murdoc’s reccomendation is to first read LW&W, then go back to THE MAGICIAN’S NEPHEW and read the entire series in order (hitting LW&W again as you go by).

LW&W was the first book in the series published, but THE MAGICIAN’S NEPHEW takes place before it does and is numbered #1 in the series. For what it’s worth, I think that LW&W is the crown jewel and is best enjoyed on it’s own before the entire series as a whole.
