Breaking the 0-for-June slump

My apologies. The hotel we were staying at was supposed to have internet and didn’t. I basically have been out of touch with the world (we were doing Disney and I barely even looked at a television) since last Saturday.

(I was relieved to turn on CNN Headline News (or whatever they call it these days) and see that the story of the FBI report on a few instances of “Koran mishandling” was still worthy of not only coverage every half-hour but also a place on the news ticker at the bottom of the screen. Since this was already several days old before I left for vacation, AND WASN’T NEWS THEN, I’m guessing that not a single thing has happened in the meantime.)

That doesn’t excuse my lack of posting. It will continue to be light for the next couple of days, though I’m expecting to have internet access every evening.

This site has become big enough (relatively speaking, of course) that I think I’m going to think about having guest-bloggers cover for me when I travel. What would MO regulars think about that? If I could get a writer or two to post on the same material that I regularly cover, would you still read?

Something tells me it’s not my sparkling personality that keeps you coming back…

UPDATE: And yes, I realize it’s the anniversary of the battle of Midway. I meant to write something about it and won’t get to it right now, but I do happen to recommend Donald Sensing’s post on Torpedo Squadron 8 from last year.

  1. This site has become big enough (relatively speaking, of course) that I think I’m going to think about having guest-bloggers cover for me when I travel. What would MO regulars think about that?’ Great Idea Murdoc, May I suggest: Bob Woodward & Carl Bernstein. Their style would make make your readers’ eyes WATER and open up the floodGATES to a whole new blog-style.

  2. Isn’t it Gay Week at Disney? Just wondering, not that there’s anything wrong with that… I will be there with the family in a few weeks, any dining recommendations?
