The smell of fear

No time to cook up a Murdoc-ized version of this right now, but this MSNBC.com headline caught my eye:

They’ve gone from attacking US combat soldiers to attacking US support soldiers to attacking Iraqi soldiers to attacking Iraqi police to attacking Iraqi recruits to attacking Iraqi civilians to attacking foreign diplomats.

‘They’, of course, are the insurgents/terrorists/jihadists/minutemen.

They are losing and they know it. They realize that other Arab governments establishing normal diplomatic relations with the new Iraq is a big step in their long defeat. They have long known that the tide has turned. And they are afraid.

  1. Funny, when I read this paragraph: ‘They’ve gone from attacking US combat soldiers to attacking US support soldiers to attacking Iraqi soldiers to attacking Iraqi police to attacking Iraqi recruits to attacking Iraqi civilians to attacking foreign diplomats.’ I thought you were talking about journalists. The next sentence set me straight. I wonder if this was intentional? 🙂
