Scott Burke – the name of a hero

Emergency landing televised on JetBlue flight
Passengers watched their terrifying drama live via satellite

I don’t even know what to say about this. Scott Burke’s coolness and skill saved the day. And he did it with style.

I guess we’ll have to wait to see what got them into that situation in the first place, but there’s no doubt that Burke did what needed to be done int the way it needed to be done when it was all on the line. You can’t ask for more.

Simply astounding. Or, as Phil Carter says, that’s some Shit hot flying

  1. I must say this guy was lucky that his nose wheel locked, as even in this odd position the wheel was not trying to pull the aircraft either way, which would have allowed the pilot to take advantage of the calm conditions of the airport. Good flying though, cause it must have taken some large knackers to stay cool during that landing.

  2. Reminds me of a recent earthquake in Portland, OR … the first thing people did after the early morning quake was to turn on the TV, and watch it on the local news. It didn’t really happen unless you see it on the TV.
