My earlier post on the USS San Antonio reminded me that I had totally forgotten about some cool pics taken after hurricane Katrina of Northrop Gumman’s Pascagoula yard. Although you can make out some damage here and there, it’s nothing along the lines of the near-total devastation farther to the west.
However, these USGS pics give us a few good looks at some of the ships being built. Click each for a high-res version.
There are a lot more shots, including a few other ships in various stages of completion, at the site. As you can see, the quality isn’t exceptional, but it’s still an interesting look at the shipyard.
