Just for the record, I wanted to point out that I’ve started writing many of MO’s posts ahead of time and scheduling them to auto-publish at a predetermined time. For instance, I might write a number of posts in the evening and then schedule most of them to trickle out over the course of the following day. There are a number of reasons for this, including getting a more “level” publishing schedule rather than bursts at lunch, in the evening, and on weekends. Also, this gives me an opportunity to reflect a bit more on something I’ve written (or maybe find another tidbit or two to tack on) before going “live”.
Another reason for announcing this change (which I implemented about a week ago) is for any of my co-workers who might look at my post times and wonder what the Hades I’m doing on company time.
If anything, I think you might notice a slight uptick in the quality level here at MO. Considering where I’m at right now, that bar shouldn’t be too hard to reach…
