Mission to Pluto to try again today at 1:08 ET

The New Hroizons spacecraft, the first to be headed towards Pluto, will try to get off the ground again today after two consecutive scrubs. The first was due to winds at the launch site. The second, yesterday, was due to a power failure in Maryland at the lab managing the scientific instruments on the probe.

According to NASA.gov, things are proceeding smoothly and look good for a launch today. You can watch live.

UPDATE: Finally launched at 2:00 PM.

At 2:45 the New Horizons spacecraft separated from the Centaur upper stage. Murdoc will continue coverage oif the mission when the probe reaches Pluto.
