These mechanical crustaceans could be used to search the seabed for mines and other bad stuff. Here’s an in-depth 2004 article from Signal magazine: Lobsters Populate Navy Robot Platter. As Defense Tech notes, it’s part of the Pentagon’s Animal Kingdom.
