You’re gonna’ need a bigger band-aid

The Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) glides past a Sea-Based X-Band Radar during a port visit to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, May 2, 2006. Mercy is making its first stop on a five-month humanitarian mission to the Western Pacific and Southeast Asia. DoD photo by Photographer’s Mate 2nd Class Dennis C. Cantrell, U.S. Navy. (Released)

Recall that the X-Band Radar platform encountered difficulties four days out from Pearl and had to return for repairs. Maybe Mercy can lend an ace bandage or something.

  1. Dig that Japan is to get one (more?) fielded soon, as well as all the other re-shuffling to be undertaken over the next 10-odd years.
