Anti-war activist arrested at Tacoma City Council meeting

Tacoma police on Tuesday night arrested an anti-war activist at a City Council meeting after he refused three requests to wrap up his remarks during the meeting’s public comments forum.

The man, from Olympia, was arrested on charges of trespassing and disrupting a City Council meeting after he ran over his allotted three minutes.

Police spokesman Mark Fulghum says it was the second time this week that the man has been arrested.

Early Monday, he was one of three people arrested in the Port of Tacoma in a protest against the Army’s movement of Stryker brigade vehicles. [emphasis Murdoc’s]
