Let this be a warning to others…

Aussie farmer abducted in Net love scam

An Australian farmer held hostage in Mali for 12 days by a gang of men who had posed as an online love interest has urged others to be careful when seeking romance on the Internet.

Des Gregor, 56, traveled to the West African nation last month to meet his supposed bride, whom he had met on the Internet, and collect a dowry of gold bars worth $85,000.

But when he arrived, the wheat and sheep farmer was abducted by a gang of armed bandits who bound him, beat him with a machete and stole his cash and credit cards.

This doesn’t really have anything to do with anything, but how can you NOT point this out?

  1. Aussie and Kiwi women are very independent and straightforward. They tell you what they think, and won’t take a lot of baloney from anyone. This intimidates some men, who want what we would have called a ‘moose’ in Korea. You know, quiet, subservient, uneducated, etc, with emphasis on subservient. Just the sort of woman that Osama and the Taliban thinks should populate the world. Personally, when I met my wife (a Kiwi) it was very refreshing. What you saw was what you got. No mindgames and all the other silly stuff American women are famous for.

  2. Gregor is an idiot. He’s too stupid to know that there isn’t a single female in Mali worth $85k. What a maroon!
