Light Armored Reconnaissance moving out

U.S. Marines from Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion leave Camp Korean Village in Iraq on Sept. 10. The U.S. Marines will be traveling east to Hadithah, Iraq, for their final operation for their deployment. 1st LAR is deployed with Multi National Forces-West in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar province of Iraq to develop Iraqi security forces.

  1. Get some! I love LAR (formerly LAI) Marines. They kicked ass in Panama. They saved my battalion from an Iraqi brigade at Um Hujul in 1991. They were the vanguard in Iragi Freedom. Just a great, effective unit that has made a great reputation for themselves in less than 20 years.
