I happened to catch part of the (regular) CENTCOM briefing this morning. General Brooks didn’t mention the rescue of Jessica Lynch until asked during the Q&A. He made a few comments and showed a video of the rescuers carrying her out of the hospital that she was rescued from. I’m glad that he didn’t make a huge deal out of it, and it’s pretty incredible that they have video.
Also, Lynch’s rescuers reportedly also recovered 11 bodies from the hospital, but they’re not sure if any or all are American. Lynch apparently has two broken arms, a broken leg, and several gunshot wounds. Obviously, she would have been better off lost in the desert than checked in for Iraqi medical care.
