Northrop Grumman has completed the center fuselage for the first U.S. Navy F-35C Lightning II, a carrier variant designated CF-1.

    So THAT’S what a bazillion dollars looks like, eh? Are the wings and cockpit purchased as upgrades?

    No, you’ve got it all wrong. That’s the 1.0 release of the F-35C. You have to purchase a support contract to receive the ‘Wings’, ‘Human Interface’ and ‘Armaments’ modules.

    Sort of like the “free down-loadable game” You get the first 2 levels, and the rest after you buy the whole upgrade. I suppose the customer’s choice of finish is also an extra cost.. :)
