Was Obama’s Chief Media Strategist David Axelrod Behind an Astroturfing Campaign to Promote a False YouTube Smear Against Sarah Palin?

You know, I’m wondering why we aren’t seeing more of those “Didn’t the McCain team vet Sarah Palin?” stories. Is it maybe because nothing they’ve turned up in nearly a month seems to stick at all?

  1. It doesn’t have to stick. It just has to be repeated enough that people start to accept it as fact. For a similar reason that once a person, usually a man, is publicly accused of rape, people will always remember him for that, even if he is completely exonerated. People remember the shouting, vitriol, and scandalous accusations, now the reasoned rebuttal.
