I googled around a bit and now think it's probably an MG43, typed MG4 by the German army. See it here.

You know it’s too bad that you have a capable, motivated force like the Bundeswehr but it has so little to actually do.

Or more accurately, there is so little it is allowed to do.

It looks more like an M240 with a carry handle attached to the upper rail to me. However, it’s a bit hard to tell with the image that size and I’m not really an expert on these matters.
