"Never Surrender" by Bill Peters was a good read too. He was a Delta during a lot of now well known operations.

As for the Kill Bin Ladden I must say I was a bit disappointed with it. Not a bad book but there's some more interesting stuff out there.

Flanker,

Check your six often, bro, and post here if you need anything. My son may be headed over there after the new year too.

Anything you need, if I can provide it, it's yours.

    Respects,

You may already have read it, or be aware of it, but another excellent account of the fighting during that period is, "Not A Good Day To Die" by Sean Naylor. Great account of SF, SEALS, and 101st (Rakkasans) Airborne going after the bad guys in Operation Anaconda.

TY for the post Murdoc.......this one looks good, perhaps Muhammed Claus (looks like I'll be in the Sandbox within a couple weeks) will surprise me with a copy via APO! :)

I'm 98% sure he's been dead a long time.

It's in our best interest to keep it fuzzy, though.

Murdoc,

There are a couple of schools of thought on this one. I personally believe that he either escaped from Tora Bora, but died of kidney failure a short time later, OR he escaped, and made his way to Africa where AQ is setting up shop in Somalia and other areas.

The first scenario I base my belief upon because of an interesting image that came out some time ago. It showed a large number of Terrorists in formation facing a flat bed truck with a single coffin in plain view. That HAD to be a high-profile leader, one with a LOT of clout to have so many in attendance, particularly when they could've been hit easily.

The Africa scenario just makes all sorts of sense. Provided, of course, that he is still alive. I agree with you, however, in that I still am not convinced he is alive.
