‘By some they are’

Jimmy Carter just shrugs when told that Hamas is considered a terrorist group.

  1. Jimmy, never met a jihadist he didn’t like. And why you may ask… I think that while working as an engineer on one of those nuclear subs Jimmy got a little to much radiation.

  2. Wild Bill,

Follow the money. many many millions of dollars have been donated to the Carter Library by Saudi Royal Family members, among other arab notables.

  3. Its called “situational ethics” a concept commonly applied to normally horrific concepts, but justified by the situation. In this case Jimmy can either close his eyes and hope that Hamas will get a dose of reality and compromise, or bow to the situational ethical reality that Hamas and their ilk need to be neutralized.

My dream is for a President to say, “To those who wish the destruction of Israel, get over it. If you cannot “get over it”, you will be marginalized and ignored, if you cannot “get over it” and are violent about it, you will be neutralized. To those who wish for a Greater Israel, get over it. If you cannot “get over it”, you will be marginalized and ignored, if you cannot “get over it” and are violent about it, you will be neutralized.”

  4. Of course they are terrorists – but, by any set of consistent standards, so is Israel, since (unlike Eire and the USA) it hasn’t moved away from from the actions and values of the terrorists involved in creating it but rather included them and extended the same things into state form. Their terrorist background is unimportant for anyone who wants to deal with the issues and is only important for people who want to back off and leave the lot of them to it.
