GeekLethal, I met Sly and his family back in the early 1970's when they were having some Hot Fun in the Summertime in Seaside heights, New Jersey. They seemed like a pleasant family and I doubt they'd be offended by the use of the word Excalibur.

Good for ‘em. That means they’ve either worked out their problems and redesigned the muzzle device, or Excalibur has moved on to its next increment. Still — firing a mass simulant is not the same thing as firing an actual round, as it depends on how detailed a match the simulant round is. If it was a full up Excalibur with just the explosive replaced by mass simulant they are in really good shape, but if something less there’s probably a ways to go yet.

Apprently no one has stopped to consider how culturally insensitive the name “Excalibur” is.

Not only does it celebrate, if not fetishize, a very dangerous weapon for killing. No sir. The name commemorates the violation of stone by steel, ties that violation to positive imagery, and leaves it to a man- of all hateful things- to make everything better by withdrawing it.

It is downright offensive to Stones, the descendants of Stones, and to all living Stone-Americans.
