Tongue Tied notes that Central Michigan University directed students about How to celebrate Christmas without offense.

“It is inappropriate to decorate things with Santa Claus or reindeer or other ‘Christmas’ decorations,” it said. “Good ideas for decorations during this time are snowflakes, snowpeople, poinsettias to give a feeling of winter.”

Christmas was called out specifically. Other cultural celebrations were not. Fact.

After everyone and their brother cried ‘foul,’ CMU changed it’s course slightly. The new posting is here on the Affirmative Action page at CMU.

CMU spokesman Rich Morrison said the the university didn’t know about the anti-Santa and anti-Christmas warnings.

“CMU has more than 100,000 official Web pages,” he said. “I don’t know that anyone knew that this was up.”

Well, someone knew. Maybe they should keep a closer eye one someone. Someone may have an agenda. And I don’t think it’s peace on earth, and it certainly isn’t goodwill toward men.

And celebrate winter? Let’s all celebrate the cold, and the slush, and shovelling the driveway? Rejoice at flu season? Higher heating bills? Who do they think they’re kidding?
