Not exactly coming in cold, she started with TNG and only got a little taste of TOS and really wasn't a fan of either. She LIKED this movie...had her crying in the first 15 minutes, not to mention that she appreciated the action and internal continuity. As a long time fan, I loved it...a worthy successor. I think Roddenberry would be proud...or at least more proud than he would have been of many of the spin offs and attempted reboots in the past. My wife is a “non-fan”. I don't much care for that style, but it's pretty much become the norm. I didn't think this was as bad as most. I went with a buddy who is'nt a Trek fan and he liked it too.
