It's the usual politics. Praise the troops but shun them when the shit hits the fan. The Brit boots on the ground are good, very good but if you don't have enough helos, proper body armor and other basics of warefare it's a losing situation and a recipe for disaster. I think Michael is currently with the (American) Marines in Helmand.
