		<description>Its amazing the amount of military might we have just tied up in mothballs. Our junk, even today, is more powerful than almost all the other Navies of the world. Every time I drive over the Benicia bridge, I can see the stern of the Iowa sticking out from the rest of the cargo ships in the mothball fleet. Its a damn shame to have her sit out there, inaccessible and rusting away. She should be moored at Mare Island or over in Alameda with guided tours.

Also, when I read the name Croatan, it reminded me of the book Chickenhawk, by Robert Mason. That was the ship that carried the pilots and HU-1&#039;s of the First Air Cav to Vietnam in 1965.</description>
