Oops, I forgot! GDLS didn’t have a whole bunch of leftover low-recoil-force guns lying around, so that they could use THOSE to make the least effort whilst charging the most cash (with a no-bid contract, and a total, illegal monopoly).

That’s why the MGS has an M68; a large-bore cannon with recoil too powerful for an Armored Car, mounted atop an Armored Car too fragile for any large-bore cannon.

The Stryker is made of the same alloy as all the other LAVs (Canadian Piranha look-alikes) with the same thickness and structural support — which, let’s recall, was also used on the *failed* LAV-105 (which wobbled too much), the *failed* LAV-AG (which cracked it’s hull every time it fired), and the *failed* LAV-AD (which ALSO cracked it’s hull every time it fired, and was completely removed from service in less than 5 years).

My first deployment to the sandbox, right after ODS, we offloaded vehicles straight from Germany … ran around for months in green BDUs and bright green tanks and Brads. They issued us DCUs to fly home in.

Glad to see an MGS getting some positive work in OEF, though (they had a bad experience on first deployment that I won’t repeat here).
