Time was that Murdoc was excited about this class of Littoral Combat Ship. The delays, cost overruns, and general jackassery surrounding the entire program, coupled with the fact that the Navy just plain doesn’t have enough ships, has soured my opinion quite a bit.
Still, I look forward to seeing it in action.

I’m not looking forward to seeing the LCS take-on a sub — it had no anti-sub missiles, no ASROCS, no torpedoes, no depth charges, and no *SONAR*.
Even if it DID have any anti-submarine capability, Joe Sestak revealed that it doesn’t have the Bandwidth capability required for it;

Gigabytes of processing power will surely impress any of our naval oponents. LOL!
Don’t worry about damage control. These boats are only good vs civilian ships or lightly armed pirates. Against anything stronger they are toast.
Operationally, they are harbor queens. We don’t have the logistical capability to use thees boats in expeditionary modes. So don’t expect them off the coast of Somalia in any significant numbers.
Actually, they would make great coast guard cutters.
