Despite all the “Gung Ho” rhetoric, Afghanistan will never be a democracy no matter how long NATO troops are in country.
It’s a stone-age meat grinder that will never evolve no matter how many boots are put on the ground.
So the only way of dealing with it is troop withdrawl and establish a policy of stand-off containment through selective strikes utilizing manned and unmanned aircraft.
