New Stryker Defense Proven in Combat

Another Stryker has been hit by an RPG. Unlike the first hit, this one struck the anti-RPG cage of “slat armor.” The warhead was defeated and the vehicle suffered only superficial damage. No casualties.

Remember that the cage doesn’t cover the entire vehicle. Armor is generally weaker on the top of armored vehicles, and the Stryker’s cage doesn’t cover the top. Chechen rebels used volleys of RPG shots and attacks from above (usually from upper stories of buildings) to inflict serious losses on Russian armor.

Still, this is very encouraging. Often the simple fix is the best fix.
