Some terrible problem at my host that took days to recover from. Not terribly pleased, but what can you do?

UPDATE 2: It appears that a small amount of content may have been lost, including some reader comments. My understanding of the issue is that a problem with the RAID on the server MO is hosted on pretty much hosed everything and they had to restore from back-up. I’ve got my own back-up which may or may not be slightly more recent than the one they used, but we’ve already started down a new road and I’m hesitant to attempt a switch back at this point. So we’re just going to soldier on from this point.

Two user-requested features have been added, as well:

• The header area is now finally a link to the home page again.
• A new option to subscribe to comment threads is now available. If you check the box at the bottom of the comment form, you will get an email every time someone else leaves a comment on that post.

I am removing their search box. I’m sick of fixing their crap every time.

I emailed the affiliate program support and told them to hire a teenager if no one there knows how to write valid code.

Idiots.

This was designed using a template builder rather than the by-hand design I’ve used previously. Who has the time for that? Anyway, I’ll probably be playing with this a bit over the next few days until it seems stable and good.

And yes, I realize that my sites are sort of jacked up on IE8, even in Compatibility View. I’m working on new templates for both MO and GunPundit. Hopefully, they’ll be ready shortly.

Hopefully this will be resolved tomorrow.

UPDATE: E-mail problems resolved, though it appears that some stuff may have been lost. Can’t tell for sure. If you sent Murdoc something important over the weekend (including Monday the 7th) please re-send it just to be sure.
